CAMBRIDGE, UK, April 5, 2019 – The library at the University of Exeter has invested in 75 multidisciplinary research databases from ProQuest – and its faculty and students now have access to millions of pages of primary sources for research, teaching and learning.
The University of Exeter is the U.K.’s fastest growing Russell Group research-intensive university with campuses in Exeter and Cornwall. The university is known worldwide for its research prominence and for delivering an internationally renowned excellent education.
Caroline Gale, Library Liaison Manager at the University of Exeter, worked with ProQuest to expand the library’s collections strategically, focusing on digital resources that are accessible to researchers anywhere, anytime.
“The University of Exeter chose to work with ProQuest because these 75 databases support the unique research projects already underway at Exeter, such as the 21st Century Research Library Initiative – which aims to enhance research resources for academic staff and Ph.D. students in the humanities and social sciences,” said James Anthony-Edwards, University Librarian at the University of Exeter.
Students and faculty at Exeter now have access to some of the industry’s most renowned primary source archives, including:
- ProQuest Historical Newspapers™

- House of Lords Parliamentary Papers
- Colonial State Papers (1574-1757)
- British Periodicals Collection IV
